Today was my first working day. We spent two times three hours counting migrating birds (mainly raptors) in the dessert. In the 4 hour break between the two counting periods we visited an oasis! It was very nice having lunch underneath palm trees and watching roosting songbirds!

WOW! Great workplace, but no vegetation at all - of course that was to be expected in the desert ;o)
